Spray Foam Insulation Services in Ontario
At Milan Insulation Company, we are your go-to experts for spray foam insulation services throughout central Ontario. Specializing in the application of Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF), commonly known as spray foam insulation, we provide top-notch solutions to enhance the energy efficiency of your property.
In Canada, two main types of spray foam insulation are widely used:
- Closed-Cell Spray Foam: Perfect for exterior and structural applications, offering superior moisture resistance and insulation value.
- Open-Cell Spray Foam: Ideal for interior applications, providing excellent soundproofing and air sealing capabilities.
Each type of spray foam serves different purposes. Our team is here to help you determine the best option for your specific needs, ensuring optimal performance and energy savings.
Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation: Maximize Efficiency
Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) Insulation is a highly efficient and versatile solution, composed of a two-component mixture, usually polyurethane. Upon application, SPF expands, forming a seamless, airtight barrier that adeptly fills gaps and voids. This insulation excels not only in thermal performance, reducing energy consumption and maintaining consistent temperatures but also acts as a barrier against noise transmission and provides structural support.
Milan Insulation specializes in certified SPF insulation, ensuring meticulous application for enhanced energy efficiency, soundproofing, and structural support. Trust us for personalized solutions that exceed industry standards, transforming your spaces into comfortable, energy-efficient environments. Choose Milan Insulation for expert SPF insulation services that stand the test of time.
We design customized packages for insulation and drywall to make the entire process easy to understand and more efficient. We do continuous monitoring throughout the project to ensure that there is no issue with the quality and project is delivered within the specified time frame. We have specialized teams for insulation as well as drywall.
2LB Spray Foam Insulation:Medium-density Efficiency
The first type is the two-pound (2LB) spray foam – closed cell, this means the cell is closed which makes the product waterproof but take note that is not designed for waterproofing purposes. The 2LB spray foam insulation when it applied to the surface it turns into a hard rigid foam. This product is popular in the insulation industry because it can prevent moisture and water vapor transmission as well as it prevent creation of mold on the wall. Using this product will help you improve your indoor air quality and reduce energy consumption. The density of the 2LB spray foam makes it strong and gives more strength to the building structure. But the main purpose of this product in the market is for insulation. It gains more popularity in the market due to its higher R-value which is 6.3 R value per inch (R-values measure the capacity to resist heat flow) this means that more foam brings you more R-value.
2LB Spray Foam Insulation: Features
- Enhanced Density: 2LB spray foam for superior structural stability and durability.
- Exceptional Thermal Insulation: Minimizes heat transfer, reduces energy expenses.
- Effective Air Tightness: Establishes an airtight barrier, enhancing indoor comfort.
- Noise Reduction Expert: Excels in reducing airborne sound transmission.
- Robust Moisture Resilience: Closed-cell structure prevents moisture absorption.
- Versatile and Flexible: Adapts to various settings, and fills gaps for comprehensive coverage.
- Durable Performance: Extended lifespan, high density, superior moisture resistance.
- Energy-Efficient Solution: Crucial for minimizing energy consumption, promoting eco-friendly buildings.
2LB Spray Foam: Key Areas For Installing
- Exterior Walls
- HVAC Ducts
- Vaulted and Traditional Ceilings
- Attics
- Under Floor Spaces
- Rim Joists
- Steel Girders
- Overhangs
0.5LB Spray Foam Insulation: Low-density Versatility
The second type is the 0.5LB spray foam (open cell). The number of 0.5LB represents the density of the product which is a half-pound weight in each cubic foot. The name of open cell means the cell of this product is open, this product is not a vapor barrier or moisture barrier. It has 3.8 R-value per inch which is apparently lower than the 2LB closed cell spray foam. Previously Canada and in the US the 0.5LB was being used as insulation inside the buildings, but because of the nature of the product as being not a vapor and moisture barrier whenever it is being applied in the building from inside it must be covered by a poly vapor barrier, for this reason in most cases it’s not advised to be used in insulation in Canada. There are instances where 0.5LB spray foam is still being used as insulation products in the exterior from outside of the building. The garage is an example of an outside space and for the garage ceiling the 0.5LB spray foam is used because this product has a noise reduction ability. Furthermore, the 0.5LB spray foam is being used also for HVAC duct insulation also.
0.5LB Spray Foam: Features
- Lightweight Advantage: 0.5LB Spray Foam’s lighter composition eases handling during installation.
- Flexibility Unleashed: 0.5LB Spray Foam’s reduced density brings adaptability, conforming to diverse shapes.
- Thermal Efficiency At Less Density: Despite the lower density, 0.5LB Spray Foam ensures efficient thermal insulation, minimizing heat transfer.
- Sound-Friendly Foam: With sound-absorbing features, 0.5LB Spray Foam reduces airborne noise transmission, enhancing acoustic insulation.
- Cost-Effective Insulation Solution: 0.5LB Spray Foam’s lower density offers a budget-friendly yet effective insulation choice.
- Moisture-Friendly Structure: The open-cell structure of 0.5LB Spray Foam allows moisture vapor passage, preventing buildup.
- Versatile Applications: 0.5LB Spray Foam adapts to diverse surfaces, providing insulation and air-sealing properties.
- Swift Expansion: 0.5LB Spray Foam’s rapid expansion efficiently fills voids for comprehensive coverage.
0.5LB Spray Foam: Key Areas For Installing
0.5LB spray foam excels in sealing and enhancing thermal performance, ensuring comprehensive coverage for superior energy efficiency and comfort in various structural components.
- Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems.
- Internal Partitions and Ceilings.
- Noise Reduction Projects.
- Sealing Plumbing and Electrical Penetrations.
